Inclusion Criteria:
* patients eligible for major spine surgery
* must speak and understand Danish
* must be able to give oral and written consent
Exclusion Criteria:
* alcohol or medicine abuse
* treatment with opioids \> 100 mg daily
* allergy to local anesthetics
* severe obesity
