* age \> 50 yrs
* macular pucker wherefore vitrectomy is necessary
Exclusion Criteria:
* macular pathology other than macular pucker
* Corneal pathology
* Other ocular pathology that could affect the biometrics or ELP
* Previous vitrectomy in one of the eyes
