* over the age of 18 acute single or multiple digit complete flexor tendon lacerations in zones I or II
Exclusion Criteria:
* gross wound contamination
* segmental tendon loss
* associated finger fractures
* complex or multisystem injuries
* complex or multisystem injuries
* mangled hand injuries
