* Predominant knee osteoarthritis requiring total knee replacement
* Able to give informed consent
* Able to return for 6 week follow-up
Exclusion Criteria:
* Advanced osteoarthritis in other lower limb joint(s)
* limb length discrepancy requiring a shoe-raise
