Inclusion Criteria:
* greater than 18 years of age
* persistent atrial fibrillation and have been recommended by your primary cardiologist to undergo cardioversion
* have an implantable cardiac defibrillator
Exclusion Criteria:
* over the age of 99
* pregnant
* prisoner
