Description:
This gene encodes a member of the Crumbs family of proteins. The encoded transmembrane protein binds to membrane protein, palmitoylated 5 and to PDZ domain protein (Drosophila inaD-like). This protein may play a role in epithelial cell polarity and is associated with tight junctions at the apical surface of epithelial cells. Three transcript variants encoding two distinct isoforms have been identified for this gene.
