Required during embryogenesis and differentiation of multiple organs during embryogenesis. Probably acts as a key regulator of hematopoietic differentiation. May not be required for apoptotic cell clearance by macrophages but seems to be necessary for the regulation of macrophage cytokine responses (By similarity).
